Live and Unplugged:

Documenting the  Austin  Tx  music  scene

Live and Unplugged documents the Austin, Texas music scene through photography and collected materials from shows. I developed this interest after years of photographing concerts and realizing how temporary live music can be. Performances are loud, energetic, and communal, but the moments disappear quickly as bands change and venues come and go.

The project is made up of a hand-bound book with a screen-printed cover that combines my concert photography with posters and printed materials from the Austin music community. Alongside the book is a wheat-pasted board layered with photographs and posters, referencing the way show flyers accumulate on walls throughout the city.
